New Assessments

Tuslaw is participating in the 2015-2016 Online Tests. Ohio is developing computer-based state tests for the 2015-2016 school year in Math, English Language Arts and will no longer be using the PARCC assessments that were used last year. For the 2015-2016 Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies will all be using the AIR platform. AIR is developing the Math and ELA assessments to mirror the same style as the Social Studies and Science tests that were given last year. Having all the tests on the same testing platform will benefit the students and staff moving forward.

On Monday, June 25, 2012 Governor Kasich signed Senate Bill 316. This bill's main topic was Third Grade Reading Guarantee. The Third Grade Reading Guarantee gives greater emphasis to reading instruction and intervention in the early grades. All schools in Ohio are required to diagnose all students in grades kindergarten through three, then create individualized reading improvement and monitoring plans and provide intensive reading interventions to the students who need extra support. Please read the following documents to learn more about the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.
